That you are called "rope access technician", "construction climber" or just "climber", training is necessary to progress in the profession.

As part of our rope access training, we were lucky enough to welcome 3 independent rope access technicians for a refresher course.

It was the perfect opportunity to meet one of them, to get to know him better and to share his experience with you !

Interview with Olivier Delecosse - All Access Solution SRL

Hi Olivier, can you introduce yourself and explain your activities in a few words ?

Meeting with Olivier Delecosse, rope worker for 15 years!

« After 13 years of activity as a self-employed individual, I founded the company All Access Solutions SRL in October 2021, which currently has 2 branches : Les Alpinistes - Alpinists in construction and industry, which takes over interventions in difficult access terrain, and resale of equipment, including the Branach brand (the Insta is nice, subscribe), which creates innovative ladders for professionals and industry (including the most secure ladder in the world, no less !). »

« Collaborations with companies such as Dizziness and Altitude have led me to some very beautiful projects, such as the re-lighting of the Church "Notre-Dame de Laeken" and the "Cinquantenaire", as well as dozens of interventions on the Atomium. On a more international level, I was able to travel to Martinique with UpSideWork, where the best part was, I must admit, the afterwork...
Lately, I've been enjoying working with Les Suspendus, where we mainly work in urban areas. »

What has been your training path ?

« I did my first training course in 2008, it was a GOF 4 to work on GSM masts. I then worked with Explotech which was a very good school of life/work. It was during this period that I passed my first IRATA certificate and I have remained in this system ever since. So it was out of pure curiosity, and knowing by reputation that it would be interesting, that I pushed the door of Neve. »

« At the end of the day, even though we gain experience in the field, a good training is really essential. Not only to ensure your safety and that of your teammates, but also to be efficient on the rope. »

What did you find different at Névé ?

Meeting with Olivier Delecosse, rope worker for 15 years!

« Being trained for the first time outside the IRATA system, I really appreciated the flexibility of the training and of our trainer. Instead of imposing a programme on us, he listened to our needs, we defined objectives together according to our interests, and he complemented this with his own experience. It was very rewarding !  »

« I really enjoyed my time with Névé, especially because the instructions given were in line with the manufacturer's instructions. And not only by limiting the possibilities of use, but also by showing other less common ways of using the material. »

What feedback can you give about your time at our centre ?

« I had a very pleasant training ! All contacts, from the first phone call to the post-training follow-up, were always very friendly. The atmosphere in the office and on the training site is just as relaxed as it is professional. The company culture rings true to me in terms of our climbing community. »

« I'm very pleased to have gained this time to my knowledge through experience sharing, whether with Julien (Sylvigreen) or our trainer, Pol. The facilities allow for a wide variety of interventions and simulations, and the little extra for me was to be able to take advantage of the latest Petzl products that I had only been able to see on the net. »
